Ages 4 – Adult

Building off techniques learned in ballet, jazz incorporates isolated movements, precise rhythmic movements, and a lot of enthusiasm. What happens when you bring together the elements of jazz dance with the swag and funk of hip hop? You get jazz funk. Dancers will have fun as they learn how to execute high-energy choreography.

  • Enhances flexibility which will improve posture and help prevent injuries.
  • Improves coordination, rhythm, and spatial awareness.
  • Encourages dancers to explore different styles in a fun, high-energy environment.

What to Wear:

Shoes: Student dancers should wear black, slip-on jazz shoes. Adult dancers should wear CLEAN, non-marking sole sneakers or dance sneakers.

Clothing: Female student dancers should wear convertible or stirrup style tights and leotard. Dance shorts or jazz pants/leggings may be worn over tights. Male student dancers should wear jazz dance pants with a form fitted t-shirt or tank. Adult dancers should wear comfortable clothing suited for movement. Baggy or loose fitted clothing is not permitted.
