Creative Movement
Ages 3 & 4
Creative movement is tailored to the development of young dancers and focus on nurturing their natural creativity and love for movement. Basic movement concepts are explored through guided exercises that help them learn to move in time with music.
Benefits of Creative Movement:
- Develops fundamental skills such as coordination, balance, flexibility, and strength.
- Encourages creativity and imagination by allowing young dancers to express themselves through movement.
- Fosters social skills as dancers learn to work together during class.
- Builds young dancers’ confidence as they develop a sense of body awareness and control over their movements.
- Helps lay the foundation for an enjoyment of movement that can lead them to explore other styles of dance as they grow.
What to Wear:
Shoes: Female dancers should wear pink ballet shoes. Male dancers should wear black ballet shoes.
Clothing: Female dancers should wear tights and a leotard or a tutu dress with an attached skirt. Garments that detach from the leotard become a distraction and may not be worn during class. Male dancers should wear form fitted pants and/or shorts with a form fitted shirt or tank.
